Primary health care services project at Yousuf Goth; funded by EC ( Eupropean Commission) through TVO (Trust for Voluntary Organization) completed its three year implementation period on 31st of December 2003. Since then, APWA has been providing fund from its own resources for the project. It has been a difficult time specially the year 2007. There were riots, strikes, bomb blasts, and to add to the misery of the population dug up roads all over the city.

APWA's Projects are located in the urban slums and rural outreach peri- urban areas. The Yousuf Goth Center is surrounded by Goths/Clusters of huts and has no other NGO working in the area. APWA's clinic did attract patients but due to disruption, its activities had been slow. The staff had been cut down to the minimum with one LHV and two field workers. The clinic had to be shifted twice as the land lord wanted a higher rent. The mobile Unit also was not functioning as the van provided for it was not available for this purpose. The patients from adjoining areas could not be treated and those who needed the ultrasound facility could not be taken to the nearest hospital. This was a drawback for the project performance. The other activities were conducted as usual though there was much pressure on the skeleton staff. The project ended in December 2008.
