APWA has through out its history continued to remain at the forefront of women's issues.It is a non-governmental, and voluntary organizataion open to all Pakistanis irrespective of cast,creed or status.It is an entirely non-political organization,whose aims and objectives are social, educational, legal and cultural uplift of women.APWA has provincial and district branches throughout Pakistan and memberships of several thousand.It has Consultative Status with the Government; it has affiliation internationally with General Federation of Women Club, International Alliance of Women.The Association Country Women of the World,the international Council of Women and World assembly of youth, PPSSEAWA.

APWA's program are directed towards making the next generation women, appropriately trained at all levels, to fulfill the demand for more and more trained and qualified workers to build the economy of Pakistan.Such training programs are conducted not only at the National Headquarters but at all provincial branches also.

The Vocational Training Centres at the National Headquarters, started by the Eduvation and Youth Section of APWA, has helped many girls to enter into labour force.Plans are underway to start a full fledged Vocational Institute in the APWA Complex being built at the national Headquarters.Applied Nutritional Programs, especially projected towards mothers and children of both Urban and Rural areas, have been the special concern af APWA, visible changes are now incresingly apparent.
